Troubleshooting Echo Problems - Things to try

01) Everyone should wear headphones or earphones.

02) Test audio before you go live to sort out any problems.

03) You can go live to test audio to a private FB page.

04) Make sure everyone has their speakers turned off.

05) Mute System Audio in the Ecamm Audio panel.

06) If you detect an echo, mute one person at a time to see who's setup is causing the echo.

07) If you are using a USB audio device, make sure it is not causing the problem.

Switch to headphones plugged directly into your Mac and use the built in Mac mic to test

08) Make sure the correct audio source is set in Ecamm's Audio Preferences

09) Check your System Audio settings

10) If you are using an external mixer, try a Mix Minus mix

11) Use a quality USB mic or audio interface for your mic versus the built in Mac mic.

12) A modern MacBook Pro has pretty good built-in echo cancellation

If there is a solution for this in Ecamm, I'm sure they will address it.

Also: Echo cancellation doesn't work with headphones.

"If you are using headphones, echo cancellation is disabled automatically."

Echo cancellation is for Mac's built-in speakers only.

"Echo Cancellation is only offered when the Mac's built-in speakers are being used for audio output."
